(Nationwide) – Today, Urgency of Normal must once again sound a critical alarm to end ongoing pandemic restrictions and to instead maintain normalcy for children. After almost three years of one disruption after another, the data is clear: pandemic restrictions have not been proven to be effective and continue to take a tremendous toll on students, with the impact on learning and mental health being particularly unsettling.

(Nationwide) — Today, a group of scientists and pediatric, infectious disease, emergency, mental health and ICU physicians, increasingly concerned that COVID-19 mitigation measures continue to disrupt children’s lives with testing, isolation and vaccine mandates, issued an open letter to the White House and CDC.

To support parents, preschool teachers, and administrators in understanding the risks of COVID to our youngest children, the group has released a new advocacy toolkit entitled “Children, COVID and the Urgency of Normal: The Under 5 Edition”, available at www.urgencyofnormal.com. The toolkit presents clear, understandable data on risks of COVID compared with other common respiratory viruses specifically to children under five and how the measures used to prevent transmission of COVID affect them.

The Urgency of Normal Toolkit is now available in three additional languages, including Spanish, French & German.
